Reverend George Hollingshead, age 75 of Jasper, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2010 at his residence. Funeral Services were held at 1PM on Monday, July 5, 2010 at Bethel Tabernacle with Reverends Robert Jarvis, Larry Phillips and Johnny Hollingshead officiating. Interment followed at Sunrise Memorial Gardens with Local Chapter 47 DAV in charge of Military Graveside Services. The following served as Pallbearers: Bobby Joe Hollingshead, Carl Hollingshead, Charles Hollingshead, Eddie Hollingshead, Bobby Ray Hollingshead, David Hollingshead, Herman Hollingshead, Jr. and Ralph Causey. Honorary Pallbearers were: Kevin Buchanan, Victor Robinson and David Marvin Hollingshead.
Survivors include his Wife: Murial Hollingshead of Jasper; Brothers: Herman Hollingshead, Sr. and Johnny Hollingshead, both of Jasper; Grandchildren: John and Paul Kerney; Several Nieces and Nephews. Reverend Hollingshead was preceded in death by his Parents: Carl and Geneva Hollingshead, First Wife: Betty Lou Hollingshead, Brother: Edward Hollingshead and a Step-Daughter: Marilyn Kerney.
Cagle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
